The Vermont Timber Works shop is full of timbers (this is a very good thing). Douglas fir timbers for the Chapel for Holy Apostles project to be erected in October of this year.
From the glulam arches to the king posts, this project is cool. Below is the 3D model (very nice Butch)!
The Vermont Timber Works crew will be raising this timber frame. Lot's of pictures will be taken I am sure of that. Stay tuned!

MADE in Vermont with Pride, VTW Timber Frames.
Did you know that Vermont Timber Works hand crafts each timber frame project in their North Springfield, Vermont shop? Well, if you didn't know this...now you do. At Vermont Timber Works each timber frame home is custom designed, engineered to suit and cut by hand in VERMONT. Now, made in Vermont doesn't mean STAY in Vermont...as many of our timber frames are shipped elsewhere. For example, you'll find this timber frame barn in Shiner, Texas.
This douglas fir timber frame pavilion shown below is in Barrington, IL. The Citizen's Park Playground Project consisted of a group of timber framed gazebos, shelters, pavilions, an amphitheater, a warming shelter and gathering room for a great public park. All structures feature douglas fir timber framing, love the arched beams!
Springfield, Missouri is where you'll find this timber framed church project. Rebuilt after a fire, Vermont Timber Works is very proud to be the chosen timber frame company.

Vermont Timber Works, Inc...Welcomes Tommy back to our Timber Framing Team
Tommy, shown here hard at work and also trying hard to avoid the camera!
Tom is back with our timber frame team and he is a welcome asset. From the layout, to all aspects of our hand crafted fabrication process, we are happy to have him back.
Tom ran the show at our Lake Taghkanic job in Ancram, NY. Douglas Fir Timber and Glulam Arches complete this heavy timber commercial project. Vermont Timber Works and CREW raise many timber frames.

Update! More Pics from our Lake Taghkanic Bath House.
This heavy timber trellis and bath house timber frame is located at the Lake Taghkanic State Park in Ancram, NY. Douglas fir timbers and columns with glue laminated arches, very pretty next to the lake, don't you agree?
Thank you Doug for these wonderful pictures.

Heavy Timber Framing Do's and Dont's
- DO your homework.
- DO have a budget and feel free to discuss it with your timber framer.
- Don't assume you are getting traditional joinery, not all timber framing companies offer it (or do it well).
- DO ask for referrals.
- Don't forget to call Vermont Timber Works, to find out if we would be a good match for your timber frame project. Delivery Nationwide. 802-886-1917

Custom Timber Frames for Commercial Projects? Of course!
now THAT is a wide load...
These beautiful douglas fir timber trusses are being shipped assembled by Vermont Timber Works for Engleberth Construction. Headed to Stowe, VT. the first of many trucks.

The new timber frame lodge at Spruce Peak is going to be something else. Sue and I plan on heading up there as the raising commences...we want LOTS of pictures.
