Timber frames are hand crafted in our North Springfield, VT shop and shipped all over the country, regardless of the season. Our Vermont Timber Works Crew raises many of these timber frames. As I type, warm at my desk, Tommy and the guys are in Rockingham, VT organizing and assembling a timber frame house. The weather today is not bad, but I bet the wind has a bite to it!
We assemble the bents and sections on the ground, then raise them into place with a crane and fork truck. It's very cool to watch. This project actually has 2 timber frame structures, the first being the timber frame barn AND we have a video on youtube...take a look!

Timber Homes, Room by Room Ideas
Adding some interest in this sitting room is the octogon shape. Focus may be on the fireplace, but you can't help but notice these beautiful timber beams.
Another idea for your sitting area may be something like this shown below. Darker timber beams with light colored walls and lots of windows.
Most timber frame homes include a loft area, here is a very pretty idea for your consideration.
Bedroom, perhaps a few timber ceiling beams is all you need.
Ruby would like to thank you for looking at our timber home ideas.802-886-1917

Timber Frame Projects with Douglas Fir Timbers
First things first. We can't begin your timber frame fabrication until the timbers arrive. Much of what we hand craft is designed with douglas fir timbers. Douglas fir is a beautiful wood and is also quite strong.
Unloading this truck from Disdero Lumber Co. is our very own PJZ. Normally this is done by MJ or Toddy but Pete has forklift training for times like this. He is the only one here! Besides us girls that is. Great job!
Custom designed timber frame great room with kitchen and loft will be created from part of this timber load. Also douglas fir timber trussesfor a school. Stay tuned for progress shots.

MADE in Vermont with Pride, VTW Timber Frames.
Did you know that Vermont Timber Works hand crafts each timber frame project in their North Springfield, Vermont shop? Well, if you didn't know this...now you do. At Vermont Timber Works each timber frame home is custom designed, engineered to suit and cut by hand in VERMONT. Now, made in Vermont doesn't mean STAY in Vermont...as many of our timber frames are shipped elsewhere. For example, you'll find this timber frame barn in Shiner, Texas.
This douglas fir timber frame pavilion shown below is in Barrington, IL. The Citizen's Park Playground Project consisted of a group of timber framed gazebos, shelters, pavilions, an amphitheater, a warming shelter and gathering room for a great public park. All structures feature douglas fir timber framing, love the arched beams!
Springfield, Missouri is where you'll find this timber framed church project. Rebuilt after a fire, Vermont Timber Works is very proud to be the chosen timber frame company.

Would you like a timber frame house?
If so, you have come to the right place. From initial design ideas to the finished hand crafted timber frame house, Vermont Timber Works is ready to talk with you.
Imagine sitting in this couch and looking up into the timber beams, and that arched window (Great choice Arthur!). Natural timber frame construction creates a wonderful warmth and many designs are possible.
On a lighter note...this hand hewn native pine timber frame creates a gambrel roof design (I love it).

- DO ask for referrals.
- Don't forget to call Vermont Timber Works, to find out if we would be a good match for your timber frame project. Delivery Nationwide. 802-886-1917
